Mas Daumas is situated on the edge of the rural
village of Saillac, which lies between the small towns of Limogne and Caylus to
the east of Cahors. The immediate countryside is mainly farmland and woodland
and the terrain for the most part is gently undulating. Own transport is
essential and the chalet is most suited to couples seeking a quiet and restful
holiday with the opportunity of enjoying a wealth of interesting sightseeing
trips within an easy drive.

Description
The accommodation comprises a small,
self-contained chalet opposite the swimming pool, situated with the main house
in an acre of garden, mainly grass with numerous trees including various fruits
and walnuts. The SOLAR-HEATED POOL (10m x 5m) is almost uni-depth (max around 2
m) with an all round shallow ledge. BBQ and garden furniture is provided. The
living area, approx 18 x 12 ft is very light and airy with 2 windows overlooking
the fields across to the village and 2 French windows opening onto the pool. At
one end there is a range of light oak units with sink, gas hob and fridge; also
a small electric oven/grill. The room which has large rugs over a stone floor,
is furnished with dining table and chairs, 4 easy chairs and coffee table. The
small carpeted bedroom contains a double bed with duvet, fitted cupboard,
wardrobe and drawers. The bathroom comprises washbasin, wc and shower. Linen can
be provided at £5 per week. Use of washing machine, spin drier, tumbler drier,
satellite TV, phone, fax, e-mail, etc. at the main house, by

Interest
There are two bakers in Beauregard (3 mins drive), a full range of shops in
Caylus and Limogne (10 mins drive) and hypermarkets and other large shops in
Villefranche (20 mins) or Cahors (35 mins). Interesting excursions within easy
reach include Najac and the Gorges de l'Aveyron, St Cirq-Lapopie, the Grotte de
Pech Merle and the picturesque Lot river valley, St Antonin and the Roc
d'Anglars, the vineyards of Gaillac and Cahors, and the towns of Cahors, Cordes,
Villefranche, Figeac, Conques, Albi and Montauban. Toulouse is about l½ hours to
the south and you can even take a day's excursion to the sea. Local sports
include horse-riding, tennis, fishing and canoeing. During the summer months
there are numerous village fetes and musical and sporting events and a pack of
tourist information and suggested excursions will be made available.
