Why is it no longer free to advertise on your website?

You can still advertise your property for free on our website which gives you unlimited text, one image and a telephone link.

Unfortunately we had a couple of instances early in 2010 whereby some people advertised bogus properties on our website and took money from one couple for a property that did not exist.

To combat this and safeguard our visitors and potential renters, we decided to charge a minimal annual amount for advertisements with contact and booking form facilities. Payments can be traced back to a bank account and therefore the advertisers if necessary.

The Gold Membership gives you: An availability calendar, quick availability checker, 5 photos, and an image gallery with an extra 20 photos, a secure contact form and an online booking form. Entry in to the 'Property of the Week' system.

Seatbelts are compulsory for all passengers. Children must be properly protected up to the age of ten (car cots for small babies, and baby or child seats.) Crash helmets must be worn for all forms of motorbike travel.

Unless otherwise indicated the speed limit in urban areas is 50 kph in built up areas, 90 kph on other roads, (80 in the rain) and 130 kph on autoroutes (110 in the rain). The Urban speed limited is indicated by the village name sign. The speed restriction normally ends when you see the village name with a red line across it.

It is an offence to drive with more than 0.5 g of alcohol per litre of blood. (About two glasses of wine).

The Bison futé system has been set up to try to prevent traffic jams. The map proposes alternative routes indicated by green and yellow panels and the word bis.

Carry your insurance, car log book - original not a photocopy, (or a letter from the car hire company if it is a hire car), and your driving license with you at all times whilst driving. It is an offence to not to do so.
