Property Location
The property is situated in a quiet hamlet in the region
of Tarn et Garonne close to the medieval half timbered village of Montricoux. We
are just 35 minutes from Toulouse airport and approximately 80 minutes from
Carcassonne airport and within easy reach of the French motorway system. A taxi
service to and from the Airports is available. The surrounding countryside is
very varied and beautiful. To the eaast you have the hill top villages of
Bruniquel and Penne with breathtaking views of the Aveyon river and gorge. To
the North East is the medieval town of Saint Antonin with its very colourful
Sunday market. Further afield one can visit the fruit farming region of Moissac
with its magnificent church Saint-Pierre which has unique roman
cloisters.
For your holiday accommodation we offer overnight or longer stays on a bed and breakfast basis in our comfortable and spacious former farmhouse. We have large double bedrooms with a shower room and toilet on the same floor and a further bathroom on the ground floor. The house is set in mature parkland and has an all weather tennis court, a large terraced swimming pool together with an outside shower and toilet.
Local Facilities/Places of Interest
The area offers many activities for guests who do not wish to spend their
holiday lazing beside our pool. For cycling enthusiasts the country roads are on
the whole traffic free and the local forests can offer more adventurous cycling.
There are many beautiful local walks particularly along the river Aveyon and in
the forest of Gresigne. Picturesque and historical local villages and towns are
within easy walking distance for those who like to ramble along country lanes.
There is also canoeing, horse riding and golf within easy reach. Visit the
permanent art exhibitions of Ingre in Montaubon and Marcel Lenoir in Montricoux.
There
are also many other artists whose galleries are situated in the locality. The
wine growing areas of Gaillac Cahors and de Quercy are within easy reach. Visit
the vineyards individually to taste and buy for drinking whilst on holiday or
taking home to lay down for a future occasion. For those who enjoy shopping the
local markets which are very much a part of French life are held each day of the
week in different towns and villages in the area. They are very colourful and
sell everything from local cheeses to hand made leather belts. Montaubon has
markets on Saturday and Wednesday and also has a variety of many very
interesting individual shops. You could of course make a day trip to
Toulouse.
