The house is in an area full of history being part of the ancient Cathar area famous for it's Knights. The Village is at the cross point of 3 distinct wine regions - the Minervois, Corbieres & Cabardes. Beautiful vineyards stretch out in all directions from the village, but you are really only a few minutes drive from the wonderful World heritage sites of Carcassonne & the Canal du Midi. The village has a bar, corner store, bakery, butcher and within 15mins walk to the next village, there are also 2 restaurants. You can buy your wine from the village 'cave' which is produced from the grapes grown in the vineyards surrounding the village.

The property has been restored to give you a wonderful holiday. There is a brand new kitchen/dining area, with cooker, fridge, washing machine, dryer, microwave etc. The lounge is long and comfortable and offers a CD radio for your use. Go through one of the original arched doorways into the shower room, which has been completely renovated with taste and expertise. There are vaulted ceilings on the ground floor. Up the stone staircase you arrive at the first of the three bedrooms. From there you have access to the second bedroom and from the second bedroom, access to the third. There is a terrace area to the front of the property with garden furniture and chairs. We also offer long out of season economy lets to off season travellers and house hunters.

Places of Interest

Carcassonne the famous Medieval city awaits your discovery. You will find yourself wandering the many small, winding streets being able to imagine life for the knights who protected it in the 13th Century. Within the walls of the city is the Chateau which makes for a fascinating visit and has many ancient artifacts. There is also a stunning cathedral with fabulous stained glass windows. There are many restaurants and bars to choose from and lots of small shops selling locally made produce, glassware, jewellery etc. During the summer months there are often concerts in the city and often small groups who walk around the streets entertaining everybody. Below the walled city is the 'lower city' where you will find many museums, modern shops, bars, restaurants etc. The region of the Aude is full of history with it's many churchs, ruins, ancient abbeys, and wine chateaux whichever direction you care to take. It is the perfect area to enjoy wine tasting and to experience the local delicacies. Limoux is the home of the original sparkling wine - Blanquette - where you can learn the origins of the bubbles and then of course experience them first hand. The famous Canal du Midi is just a short distance from the village and you can rent boats, walk or cycle along the tow paths or just enjoy stepping out of your life for a while. In the next village, there is an open air swimming pool and a short drive will take you to a beautiful lake with sand beaches for swimming, fishing, or hiring pedallos. You can also play crazy golf and beach volley ball or enjoy a leisurely walk around the lake in the beautiful country side. The lake has life guards in attendance during the summer months, so is safe for children's bathing. The miles of sandy beaches at Narbonne are just 45mins away and in the winter you can enjoy skiing in the relaxed ski resorts of the Pyrenees. For the more adverturous there is also white water rafting available.
