The house is located in Volonne, a small village of about 1500 inhabitants, on the Durance River and close to Sisteron. The area has easy autoroute access to the coast (about 1.5 hours), the Alpes (about 1 hour), and the Luberon Valley (about 30 minutes). Lavender fields occupy the plateaus just south of Volonne. Enjoy daily village life in Provence. Walk to the boulangerie, boucherie, the weekly market, the evening music/dance events, and into the countryside.

Places of interest include the small towns and villages of the area, their colourful markets, plus music and art festivals all summer. Bicycling, hiking, gliding, tennis are all nearby. Day trips to the Cote d'Azur, the Alpes, or west through the Luberon Valley to Avignon are easy.
