Le Tournesol is located on the borders of the Aveyron and Tarn in the hamlet of Treban. Nearby there are a wealth of places of interest to visit. Flying is easy nowadays and with the onset of the budget air lines such as Easyjet, Ryan Air and Fly Be it needn't be expensive either! Our nearest airport is Rodez, about a 45 minute journey away, next nearest is Toulouse, about 1hr 20mins and next on to that is Carcasson, about 2hrs; BA also offer flights to Toulouse. If you prefer to drive the road is pretty direct from Northern France and can take as little as 9hrs from Calais to us, but timings depend on personal preferences and you may choose to stop over and do the journey over a 2 day period.

Le Tournesol has now been converted into a family run holiday get away and offers flexiblity and freedom so that you can relax, unwind and recharge your batteries. Le Tournesol has 3 large double bedrooms plus one family room (sleeping up to 4 people) in the main house, all are en-suite and have tea/coffee making facilities. Downstairs we have a small games room, lounge and a licensed bistro, so there's plenty of room to spread out!! The gite is situated in our meadow and sleeps up to 7 people comfortably with 2 bedrooms. One with a double bed and one with a single bunk over a double bed. There is a double bed settee in the lounge area. It has a fully equipped kitchen with a lounge/diner area, with seperate shower/wash room and WC. Outside there is a veranda with patio table chairs and BBQ, with beautiful views up the valley. This offers families more privacy if required. Prices start from 200 euros p/w low season to 600 euros p/w high season. You can even stay in the gite and eat in the bistro on a b&b and/or evening meal basis (meals extra!)

Places of Interest

This area is steeped in Cathar history and with its impressive natural features, rock formations and deep gorges, these are what attract visitors to Southwest France. To the north of us is Rodez, Conques and Laguiole, famous for its knives. To the east is Millau, with its world famous, and new, viaduct plus the very impressive Gorge du Tarn. South you'll find Albi with its cathedral, cosmopolitan shops, Toulouse Loutrec Museum, river walks and Golf and Toulouse, of course, the capital of the Midi-Pyrenees. Carassone can be found just a 2 hour drive from us and is an absolute must!(Setting of'Robin Hood Prince of Thieves') Plus further afield is Andorra (3hrs drive away). Stunning is the landscape of the Pyrenees, winter and summer alike. The Cap D'Couverte, a former open cast mine, now offers those young at heart the opportunity to discover and explore. With skating, dry slope skiing, sailing, mountain biking plus much, much more on offer. You can find this all at Carmaux our nearest large market town.
