Property Location The location is in the beautiful Quercy hills and central to everything this wonderful region has to offer. There is easy access to the many tourist sites of The Lot, Dordogne, Tarn et Garonne and Aveyron valley.
A feature of the Quercy region is that it enjoys a sunnier drier climate than the Dordogne and the northern Lot regions. The area has a beautiful and varied landscape ranging from forested hills and valleys to dramatic river cliffs and rolling farmland. It is known for its châteaux, fortified churches, its pre-historic caves and dozens of white limestone mediaeval villages and towns such as Castelnau-Montratier, Lauzerte and Montcuq. Overlooking its own beautiful oak woodland (approx. 5 acres) and situated at an altitude of nearly 300m, the panoramic views over Quercy are spectacular.

The two Gîtes form the entire habitable ground floor area (110m2) of our house - Genibret - and are completely independent. Genibret and its land are not overlooked by any other property.
Places of Interest The Lot Valley is still largely unspoiled and contains a wealth of history dating from pre-history through the hundred year’s war to the present time. Visit the caves of Peche-Merle and wonder at the stunning cave paintings, or visit the many castles and fortified towns and villages of the area. Try the many activities to be found – golf, canoeing, kayaking, caving, climbing, microlight, all terrain biking, horse riding and trekking or walking. Perhaps try your luck fishing the Lot or the Aveyron rivers.
Good restaurants abound locally and the locals are some of the friendliest you are likely to find anywhere. St Cirq-Lapopie perched 100m above the river on top of the cliff is one of the most beautiful medieval villages in France and is a must to visit.
